Why Brooklin Mill Montessori School?
-
High-quality Montessori education for children from 12 months to grade 6
Brooklin Mill Montessori School is a non-denominational, independent school offering a proven Montessori education to children from infants, aged 12 months through elementary grade 6. Opened in September 2002, the School has a proud reputation spanning over 20 years of successful operations in the heritage district of downtown Brooklin, North Whitby.
-
Child-centred curriculum, one-on-one lessons, and individually-paced instruction
-
Experienced, well-qualified, and nurturing teachers
The small school size and low child/teacher ratios allows teachers to build a deep understanding and relationship of trust in guiding each individual child and in communicating with their families. Our teachers are tasked with careful daily observation of each of their students, and continual assessment to meet their individual needs. We employ a team teaching model and carefully manage class sizes to ensure that each child receives the attention and coaching they need, when they need it.
-
Beautiful heritage facilities and classrooms filled with natural light
The School is located in the beautiful historic Brooklin flour mill building, circa 1848 and the younger, adjacent “Miller’s House”, completely renovated in 2015. The School grounds include over an acre of park-like green space adjacent to Lynde Creek and 2 large, fully fenced playgrounds with mature trees for shade and garden plots to tend. The School’s prime location offers a tranquil, natural learning environment to engage young hands and minds.
