"The education of even a small child does not aim at preparing him for school, but for life." Dr. Montessori
Science & Nature
Children will learn to observe the world and to feel a sense of wonder for everything in it. Through time in nature, exploration, and guided observations, children will discover the natural world. Scientific skills will be developed as we explore concepts such as magnification and living, non-living, and once-living. Children learn to apply the scientific method, through inquiry, research and experimentation. Formulation of a hypothesis and experimentation is encouraged with hands-on materials such as magnets, balancing scales, and Sink & Float objects. Classification skills are developed with engaging objects and pictures to sort. Scientific nomenclature puzzles and lifecycle activities further build vocabulary and understanding.
