Summer School 2017
Our Summer School program provides the perfect blend of Montessori learning experiences, outdoor adventures, new friends, and lots of fun! It is a great idea to use Summer School as an introduction to Brooklin Mill Montessori School or as a bridge between the school days of June and September. Our Montessori teaching team will engage your child’s hands and mind with Montessori materials, providing a period of light academics in each of the mornings and afternoons in air-conditioned comfort. Your child will also enjoy daily outdoor fun in our shady, park-like playground. Our summer activities are designed around bi-weekly themes, and the schedule is packed with cooperative games, arts & crafts, music & movement, daily reading circles, and special guests.

Summer School is available to current students, alumni, and children registered to join us in the upcoming school year, ages 18 months to grade 3. New students will benefit from individualized lessons to introduce the Montessori materials. They will also build friendships to last throughout the school year. Returning students will have opportunities to practice and advance their classroom skills, promoting retention of lessons and self-confidence. We focus on developing skills for success in a classroom community, including self-help skills, social skills, and mastering classroom routines.

Our 2017 summer program operates over the 8 weeks from Wednesday, July 5th through Wednesday, August 30th inclusive. (We are closed on Monday, August 7th for the Civic Holiday). Summer School is available mornings or full-days on a 5 day per week basis with the exception of our short 3-day weeks at the beginning and end of the summer. You may enrol your child for only one, several, or all of the 2017 Summer School weeks.

Our pre-school team welcomes children from ages 18 to 50 months in two groups (PreCasa for toddlers and Junior Casa). School lunches, as well as morning and afternoon snacks are provided for this age group. Our school-age team works with students from kindergarten to grade 3, and we offer the option to these students to bring their healthy lunches and snacks or to join the summer lunch program. Our lunches are freshly prepared by Choice Children’s Catering with child-friendly menus and high nutritional content.

Summer School fees are capped at $1,235 per month and due in July by pre-authorized debit (PAD) agreement or post-dated cheque. For summer fees exceeding $1,200, fees may be paid in 2 equal instalments at the beginning of July and August. Payments returned NSF are subject to a $35 penalty fee. No refunds are provided for absences due to illness or other circumstances. We require 2 weeks notice or fees in lieu for Summer School withdrawals or schedule changes. We levy a late pick-up fee of $10 for every 10-minute interval past 5:30 p.m. Sorry, we are not able to offer sibling discounts during Summer School.
